Turning to photography as a creative outlet during a valiant fight with breast cancer at age 34, renaissance10 survived and set up a photo contest to help raise funds for the Lavender Trust, a nonprofit that provides information and support to younger women with breast cancer. In the first two years, the competition brought in over £65,000 (that's $107,260.73 U.S.!), with entries from 130 countries last year. Renaissance10 recently joined LiveJournal to meet other passionate photographers and find supportive friends.

I have worked retail, driving cars, with at-risk youth, with developmentally disabled adults, with elementary school kids and with infants. That all seems like ages ago though!

My journal is not terribly exciting, and I don't post every day, but I do read my friend's list every day and comment quite often. I've made some great friends on LJ, friends that I've had for years now. I love these friendships and when I add people to my f-list, I'm looking for a real back and forth....I want to make a new friend....and that requires commenting...me in their journal and them in mine. I'm looking for connections. Without that, what's the point?

Hobbies: playing with penny, avoiding house work, lj, listening to music, facebook, looking for recipes, watching tv shows on dvd with byron, organizing, starting projects and not finishing them.

Dislikes: i dislike it when couples call each other "baby". i dislike it when people bicker in front of me. i dislike it when people try to insist that their opinion is the only one that matters or is right. i also dislike high drama and hearing about people repeatedly making decisions that aren't good for them or their children. i'm not a fan of girlie girl stuff in general, i don't fawn over things and get all goo goo and think things are "sooo cute!!". i dislike cleaning bathrooms, having to be nice to people when i don't want to and when i'm wrong about something that i was sure i was right about.

More about me: *i'm a left minded, atheist, plain jane. *i love to have a lot of friends and be the center of attention, and i also love my alone time. *i was raised as an only child (but have 6 much older half siblings), and can be a snobby brat. *change scares me, unless it's my idea. *my husband is super easy going, which is totally awesome because a lot of the time i'm not. *before pregnancy, i was all about either sitting on my ass watching tv, or going to the bar for beers, smokes and games. now, i'm about trying to be a good mom (usually easy!!) and housewife (not so easy!!).

We're moving back to Seattle in a couple of months after being down in "the burbs" for just about 5 years. We'll be starting a brand new chapter in our lives, so I talk about that from time to time as it's pretty exciting!

Every time I do this I find great new friends so I thought I would do it again for the holidays in hopes of finding some cool new moms :)

I'm a single stay at home mom. I went through a very messy divorce this past June. My ex is a dramatic movie in the works, if you add me you can learn more. I have three children: a 10-year-old daughter, a 9-year-old daughter and a 4-year-old son. I love my kids but I'm not afraid to admit that most of the time they drive me crazy. Anyone who says differently would be lying.

I am bluntly honest. I have no inner monologue. Sometimes this gets me into trouble. But all my lj friends tell me they appreciate my honesty. There's no sugar coating anything in my journal. I tell it like it is, like it or not. You'll find that I am an open book, there's no question I won't answer and nothing that freaks me out or scares me away.

My journal is random....I post things from whats going on with my kids, to whats going on with me, or how I want to twist my ex into a pretzel. You never know what you're going to get. I refuse to censor myself on the one thing I have where I can be myself. I won't change for anyone. I did that for too many years and I refuse to be a doormat anymore.

I suffer from depression, anxiety, agoraphobia and countless other things. I try to be positive but some days its hard. Most of my 'good' friends are online because people tend to be extremely stuck up where I live so I avoid them. Most of my IRL friends are friends I have had my entire life or more than half of it.

Hobbies? What are those? Seriously though I don't do much besides things online- livejournal, twitter, youtube. I love to read but have to be in the mood and then I'll read like 5 books in a week. I like to shop when the stores are empty so I don't have to deal with crowds. I love makeup so most of my play money goes there.

More or less I'm a regular person who has lived through a unique situation and everyone tells me I should write my life story because I have a best seller. Someday I may do that. Probably not though because I can never sit still for long...lol

Pictures? I post them in my journal so you can find them if you friend me. I go in spurts with that too...I'll post 100 pictures one week and nothing for months. Like I said I'm random :)

I post very frequently, and often long entries. I have a lot to say.
